Whānau Picnic

Our whānau picnic is only a week away. Bring a blanket and some food and come along to have your picnic tea on Thursday March 20th from 5pm at Welbourn. There will be music, a chance to play a game or two and have some kai, while you connect with other families and staff. The Home and School, who are organising this event, will run a sausage sizzle ( $2) and there will also be juicies ($1)) for sale. We would love to see you there!

Home and School News
Raffles - The Home & School Association are keen to do some smaller raffles throughout the year. If you have a business that would like to donate something as a raffle item, then we would love to hear from you. Just email us at homeandschool@welbourn.school.nz
AGM - The Home & School Association will have their AGM on the Monday 24 March at 7pm. (apologies this is a new date as we have moved it from the previously mentioned date of 17 March). This will be held in the staffroom at Welbourn School. We welcome you to join us, if you are unsure about where to go, then please email us and let us know you will be attending and we will meet you and bring you up to the Staff room. homeandschool@welbourn.school.nz
Ministry of Education - Attendance
The Ministry of Education`s initiative around improving attendance is underway and at Welbourn we are committed to implementing this updated process to support our families in understanding the importance of being present, for all of our learners.

Swimming Sports 2025 for Huatoki

Swimming Sports for our Huatoki team this year is at Highlands pool once again. We appreciate them kindly allowing us to use this wonderful venue. The date for this has changed from what has been stated in some notices which have gone home and so we ask you to note that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the new date is now FRIDAY March 21st.
Additional details will follow next week. We look forward to seeing you there to support our tamariki in Huatoki. Should the weather not be good we have a save date the following Monday.

Winter sports -
Registrations are now open for Winter sports. Please be mindful that requests can only be processed depending on numbers. If you wish to play any of these sports or want information please click on the links below. Closing date for registration is 14th March 2025.
Hockey (Yr NE-6) Season runs from Saturday 3rd May - 13th September .
Miniball (Yr NE-4) - Season starts 12th May and runs through to 15th September.
Basketball (Yr 5-6) Season starts 12th May and runs through to 15th September.
Winter Football - Season runs Saturday 3rd May to Saturday 23rd of August.
Netball (yr 3-6) Starts First week of Term 2. Yr 3-4 play Thursday afternoons, Yr 5-6 play Tuesday afternoons.
