Enrolling Your Child
Starting school as a five-year-old or moving to a new school, is a big event in your child’s life. We want to make the transition to Welbourn as smooth as possible. Contacting the school office at least 6 months prior to your child starting school, gives you plenty of time to complete enrolment forms, attend our ‘Tiny Tui’ programme (for our 5 year olds) and also helps us with our forward planning. Enrolment forms can be collected from the school office or you can contact the office to be placed on our pre-enrolment list. office@welbourn.school.nz or phone 06 7575810.
All students who live within the home zone are entitled to enrol at Welbourn School.
Out of Zone Placements for Term 3, 2024
This notice applies to Welbourn School, who has authority to operate an enrolment scheme to prevent overcrowding.
The boards invite applications from parents who wish to enroll their sons and daughters at Welbourn Schools who will start in term 3 of this year. Details of the enrolment schemes are available from the school office.
Applications can be collected from the school, email office@welbourn.school.nz for an application form or complete the online application form by clicking the link Term 3 OoZ Application Form
The deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is Tuesday 4th June at 3:00pm.
The board has determined that Up to a total of 15 vacancies in Year 1-3 and up to 3 vacancies in Y4-6 are likely to be available for out of zone students starting in Term 3 of 2024.
The exact number of vacancies available will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required it will be held on Thursday 6th June. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot Friday 7th June.
